Anton Devcich, the hard-hitting opening batsman of New Zealand, is with Lahore Qalandars from quite a time. However, the left-hander didn’t get many chances to showcase his skills. Even in the last season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), he was roped in the side after the damage was done.
Nevertheless, the 33-year old player made the most of his limited opportunities as he smashed 2 half-centuries in 5 games to help Lahore bag some consoling victories after heartbreaking defeats. Scoring 196 runs at a batting average of 39.20, the dashing batsman managed a gigantic strike-rate of 158.06.
Considered as their first choice opener for the forthcoming season of Pakistan’s marquee T20 event, Lahore Qalandars aim to see Devcich carrying the good form and produce strong results. The Hamilton born player didn’t enjoy a great time recently with bat but his ability to bounce back from treacherous times makes him a wily opponent for all the franchises.
The Sydney Thunder all-rounder is all set to roll into action from February 14 when Lahore will lock horns with Islamabad at Dubai.
