Islamabad United has built a reputation of producing quality young players for the Pakistan team as several players including Shadab Khan, Fahim Ashraf, Rumman Raees, and others have already represented the national side after getting picked based on their PSL performances.
The franchise has picked 22-year-old batting all-rounder Rizwan Hussain as their supplementary player for the 4th edition as the management is hoping to utilize his finishing skills in the middle-order.
Rizwan made a successful T20 debut in the National T20 Cup last year when he made a blistering 55 off just 34 balls against Lahore Whites soon after getting picked by Islamabad United.
Since then, he has had scores of 5, 72, 58, 45, 68, and 8 in the shorter format. Moreover, he also scored a match-winning 40 against Multan Sultans in the recently held practice match which would have been a great confidence booster before the start of his first PSL.
Rizwan is known for his power hitting abilities as many feels that he might be the find of the upcoming PSL. He has a golden opportunity this time to make it to the national as his PSL performance would determine his immediate future.
