The management of Peshawar Zalmi on Wednesday announced the hiring of the opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq as their 21st pick for the upcoming fourth edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The talented left-handed batsman will make his debut in this year's PSL as he wasn't part of the previous three editions. Imam is not considered a good T20 player though he averages in the early 40s in this format.
The strike rate is on the lower side as the opening batsman scores with a strike rate of 115. At this sudden announcement by Peshawar Zalmi, the world of social media had a mixed response to it.
Some said it's a good decision to have him in the side as he's currently in a good nick whilst some people still call it an act of nepotism as Imam went unpicked through the draft system but managed to seal a spot just at the last moment.
