Pakistan called up three uncapped players for the ODI series against Australia in the UAE and rested several key players, bearing in mind the upcoming World Cup which is now only a few months away.
Captain Sarfraz Ahmed is one of the six players rested by Pakistan for their One-Day series against Australia, with Shoaib Malik leading a 16-man squad that includes Umar Akmal and Junaid Khan. The selectors also decided to reward up and coming fast bowler Mohammad Hasnain with a national call-up after the youngster impressed during the ongoing Pakistan Super League.
After his consistently good performances in the domestic circuit, right-hand opening batsman, Abid Ali finally manages to break into the national team alongside another promising batsman Saad Ali.
Hussain Talat was dropped while Mohammad Hafeez was not considered as he is recovering from a thumb surgery. Also, Umar Akmal has been selected after performing for Quetta Gladiators in the PSL.
