Pakistan Super League (PSL) has tremendously benefitted Pakistan cricket over the course of its three editions. However, the new talent that has emerged through its platform has largely been dominated by bowlers and no young attacking batsman has stolen the spotlight in PSL – a trend that has persisted in the fourth season as well.
This lack of exciting batting talent has worried Pakistan’s head coach Mickey Arthur, who is concerned about this development. Talking to the media, Mickey stated this was an alarming sign and one that needs to be remedied soon.
“We don't see any young Pakistani batsmen developing and I am not sure of the reason why. It's the same old, tried and tested ones that keep on performing which is a little bit of worry for Pakistan going forwards,” Mickey spoke on the matter.
