New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson might miss the initial half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after suffering from a nasty shoulder injury while fielding during the second Test match against Bangladesh in Wellington.
Scans have revealed that the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper has torn his left pectoral minor muscle in the shoulder and has some bleeding as well.
New Zealand head coach Gary Stead has said that the skipper might have to delay his departure to India in order to ensure complete fitness.
“If things progress as we hope, then still going to the IPL shouldn't be a problem to him. But he's also aware that if he's not quite 100 per cent, then we will potentially hold him back as well and make sure that he is right before he goes on that plane,” he said.
