South Africa’s veteran batsman, Hashim Amla, will miss the remaining Momentum One-Day Internationals (ODI) against Sri Lanka on compassionate leave due to a family illness. Reeza Hendricks, who had originally been left out of the last two games, has been recalled in Amla's absence.

“Hashim has asked to be excused from the last two ODIs of the current series on compassionate grounds since his father is critically ill,” Proteas team manager Mohammed Moosajee said.

The Proteas have an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series against Sri Lanka and have brought back Aiden Markram and JP Duminy ahead of the fourth ODI at Port Elizabeth.
