Rishabh Pant, the dynamic wicket-keeper batsman of India, is reckoned as the future of the country. While he has displayed his class in the red-ball cricket, the Haridwar born is yet to find his mojo in the white-ball cricket as his performances have been below par.
While he produced a decent outing with bat during the 4th ODI against Australia, it was his work behind the stumps which was highlighted. Missing Ashton Turner’s catch when he was on 38 proved to be a nightmare for India as he smashed an unbeaten 84 to win the game for his side.
However, India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun has come out in defense of Rishabh Pant as he feels that drawing a parallel between him and Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an unjustified affair. The 56-year highlighted the stature of Dhoni by calling him a legend of the country.
Moreover, the Andhra Pradesh born added that the fans need to allow Pant to breath as he is in his early days and it is not an easy task to fill the shoes of Dhoni.
