It’s been nearly four years since one of the most iconic moments in World Cup history, a face-off between Wahab Riaz and Shane Watson. In the quest of defending a meagre total of 213, Wahab's engines roared to full throttle as Watson faced up at the other end.
Wahab peppered the Aussie with short ball after short ball, making him dance at the pitch. The pictures of Wahab clapping at the face of Watson became iconic for many years to come. The hostile spell nearly worked for Wahab and Pakistan, only for Rahat Ali to drop a dolly of a catch at the fine leg position.
Fast forward to this day, the two faced off against each other again in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) and this time Wahab got the better off him to send his bails flying. Quetta Gladiators saw a flying start by Shane Watson who unleashed a truckload of sixes and boundaries in the Powerplay, completing a half-century till he was bowled out in the 12th over by Wahab Riaz, pulling things back for his team consequently.
