Team India, preparing for the World Cup, experimented a lot with their squad in the series against Australia at home. It was the right time for them to figure out the best possible options at their disposal.
India focused on strengthening their batting line-up during the series and played only 4 genuine bowlers along with Vijay Shankar and Kedhar Jadhav to fill the quota. Sanjay Manjrekar advised India to go with 5 genuine bowlers if they want to do well in the World Cup 2019.
His wish was fulfilled when India opted to go with 5 genuine bowlers which included Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Bhunveshwar Kumar, and Kuldeep Yadav.
He further said that he would have preferred Yuzvendra Chahal over Jadeja but still, 5 genuine bowlers and 6 specialists batsmen is a right way to go for him in the World Cup 2019.
