Young spin sensation Umer Khan has taken the Pakistan Super League (PSL) by storm, displaying some dazzling performances over the course of season 4. Just 19 years of age, Umer has showcased remarkable maturity in deceiving the batsmen through his cunning variations and daring strategy to pitch the ball up.
The sight of the youngster raising his arms in celebration following a dismissal has been a common feature as he finishes his debut PSL campaign with 15 wickets in 10 games. He was on top of his game once again in the first eliminator versus Islamabad United, as Umer’s spirited effort allowed Karachi Kings to claw their way back into the contest.
Bowling a peach of an over during which he got the better off Cameron Delport and Chadwick Walton, Umer’s persistent wicket-to-wicket bowling caused a lot of problems for the Islamabad batsmen. He ended up with excellent figures of 2/16 in 4 overs, which unfortunately proved to be insufficient in defending the moderate total of 161.
