The 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) would not feature the Delhi Daredevils (DD) for the first time as the franchise has been rebranded completely after the acquisition of 50 percent of its shares by the JSW Group last year.
The franchise is now called ‘Delhi Capitals’ which would be led by Shikar Dhawan in the upcoming season. After going through several changes in the management, the Capitals have now roped in former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly as an advisor.
Ganguly has expressed excitement on his new role with the franchise as he feels quite confident about the upcoming season which would be a new beginning for them at the IPL stage.
Fans have also welcomed the decision to bring in an experienced campaigner like Ganguly as they feel that the team would be able to change its fortunes this year under his mentorship.
