The upcoming World Cup would be a great occasion for cricket fans all around the world as they would get to see the top sides compete against each other in a lengthy tournament. However, it also means that sides would have to be extra cautious in their preparations so that no player gets injured before or during the mega event.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli has made it very clear that the players would not be rested in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and they would have to manage their work load all by themselves.
“The responsibility and the onus is on the player. No-one will be forced to do something. Eventually everyone will know no-one wants to miss the World Cup and cost the team good balance,” he added.
He also said that the players would have to be smart in the IPL in order to make sure that they stay fit and do not over exert themselves in the tournament.
