While fans expected Lahore to come good in the fourth season of the high profile Pakistan Super League (PSL), it has been the same old horrible journey as the franchise remained glued to the bottom of the table for the fourth successive year.
Addressing all the criticism regarding Aaqib Javed’s three massive failures as the head coach of Lahore Qalandars, the owner of the franchise revealed that the Prime Minister Imran Khan advised him to hire the services of the Sheikhupura born player.
Furthermore, the Pakistani businessman rued the misfortunate injuries which snatched the key players of Lahore and they had to change two captains. The managing director of Doha-based QALCO also promised to hold an inquiry concerning the shameful performance in yet another edition of Pakistan’s most watched T20 tournament.
“There is a lot of criticism concerning our head coach Aaqib Javed. But, it was the legendary Imran Khan who advised me to appoint Aaqib as coach. I won’t undermine all the hard work he put into our talent hunts. Playing without our skipper and marquee players damaged us big time,” said by the Lahore Qalandars owner.
