The second eliminator of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 4 between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United, saw hard-hitting batsman Kieron Pollard get out in bizarre circumstances. In the midst of another explosive knock, a lapse in concentration and devious intentions cost Pollard his wicket.
The 19th over of the Zalmi innings witnessed Pollard being beaten for pace by Faheem Ashraf. Nevertheless, he took a chance on the wicketkeeper’s fumble behind the stumps and tried to run for a couple of byes.
Interestingly, while completing the second run, the bulky figure of Pollard blocked the movement of the ball and he tried to kick it out of his way. This instantly drew an appeal from the bowling side, and Pollard was adjudged out obstructing the field. This mode of dismissal is very rare to see, more so in the PSL.
