Peshawar Zalmi has made it to their 3rd final of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) after winning comprehensively in the second eliminator against Islamabad United on Friday night in Karachi.
The Islamabad batting was not able to back up its previous performances as they fell short by 48 runs in the all-important game. After Peshawar got off to a flier with the bat, the red shirts were not able to pull things back at any stage.
The whole franchise has been deeply saddened by the defeat as they wanted to make it to the final and win this year’s trophy for the daughter of Asif Ali who is battling cancer right now. Head coach Dean Jones expressed disappointed on not making it through to the final as he sent his prayers for the daughter of Asif.
Furthermore, players including Shadab Khan, Mohammad Sami, Rumman Raees, and others also felt bad for not winning the trophy for Asif’s young daughter who is fighting an unfortunate battle.
