England’s flamboyant batsman, Alex Hales believes that Karachi Kings off-spinner, Umar Khan has a very bright future ahead of him. Hales’ comments come after he faced him in Islamabad United’s four-wicket win over the Kings in the first eliminator.
“It was quite tricky in the middle as young Umer Khan bowled beautifully and he’s got a huge future,” Hales said.
In a tournament where fast bowlers have dominated, young Umar Khan has appeared to take up the center stage and impressed everyone with his calculated off-spin mastery. Throughout the tournament, he picked up important wickets for his captain in crucial moments.
AB de Villiers, Shoaib Malik, Luke Ronchi, Shane Watson (twice), Rile Rossouw, Umer Akmal, Corey Anderson, James Vince, Cameron Delport, Dan Christian, Hussain Talat, Chadwick Walton, Shan Masood, and Sohail Akhtar, comprise the list of all of Umer Khan’s wickets during the PSL.
With Karachi bowing out, Umer Khan’s audition at the big stage has come to an end. Finishing with 15 wickets in 10 innings, he is currently the fourth highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He picked up a wicket every 13.6 balls, which absolutely outstanding.
