So the two most consistent franchises in the history of Pakistan Super League (PSL) have made it to the finals yet again. The Zalmis are playing their 3rd consecutive final whilst the Gladiators have also played in the finals twice in 2016 and 2017.

This time around, the seasoned campaigner of Peshawar Zalmi Kamran Akmal has grabbed his form just at the right time and he is getting magnificent support from Imam-ul-Haq which means the opening pair of Peshawar Zalmi is the reason behind their success so far.

In the lower order, Kieron Pollard has single-handedly turned matches for Peshawar Zalmi in this season. Also, Peshawar Zalmi is the only franchise in the PSL which played most of their matches this season without a proper spinner in their squad, for their pace attack has been doing wonders for them.

Wahab Riaz and the highest wicket-taker of the tournament Hasan Ali has been joined by Tymal Mills which makes this trio a deadly combination for this format.

On the other hand, the Gladiators have been going rather smoothly with their line up since the start of the tournament. Shane Watson is, of course, their key player along with Rilee Rossouw. In form Ahmed Shahzad and Umar Akmal will also play a crucial role for Quetta as both of them have played well so far in the tournament.

The rookie pacer Mohammad Hasnain will share the new ball with the veteran Sohail Tanvir and Mohammad Nawaz along with DJ Bravo will also try to chip in with some crucial overs in the middle. However, the inclusion of Quetta’s premier spinner Fawad Ahmed who got injured in the last game is still unsure. For Peshawar Zalmi, Darren Sammy’s leadership will play a vital role and for the Gladiators, they must not panic at crucial moments.
