Pakistan started the ODI series against Australia on a negative note as the men in green were thumped by Kangaroos in the first of the five-match series. Batting first, Pakistan posted a competitive score of 280 runs on the board. However, a spineless bowling effort led by Mohammad Amir allowed Australia to chase the total in a professional manner.
After being rewarded for his domestic brilliance, opening batsman Shan Masood had a decent outing in the ODI cricket where he collected 40 runs in his debut game. The Kuwait born cricketer was relished to contribute towards the team’s cause but feels that his side cannot afford to allow complacency against a side like Australia.
Sharing his views on the ongoing ODI series, the 29-year old player added that the recent performances of the Australian team are hard to ignore as they have come back strongly from a horrendous year. The dexterous cricketer also highlighted Australia’s ODI series against India and urged his team to pick themselves up in the second game and eventually win the series.
