An anticipation for better times has formulated following the election of Ricky Skerritt as president of the Cricket West Indies (CWI). The previous management of CWI was plagued by a perpetual conflict with players, an issue which Skerritt has vowed to resolve as soon as possible.
Expanding upon his vision for the future, Skerritt has voiced his optimism for the return of two-time World T20-winning skipper Darren Sammy into the team. Sammy’s international career came to a halt after his public outburst against the Dave Cameron-led CWI following the final of the 2016 World T20.
“I am not hoping about anybody (returning) in terms of selection, the selectors will deal with that but, I want to make it clear that Darren Sammy or nobody else must be out of contention for selection,” Skerritt claimed.
