Rashid Latif reiterates Hafeez’s significance in ODIs

With the World Cup just around the corner, all the cricket junkies are sharing their opinion regarding the final squad of teams for the forthcoming mega-event. Pakistan is no exception as everyone is actively involved in discussions concerning the formation of a sturdy squad for the all-important tournament.

I might be wrong but among Aamir,Junaid & Wahab,I will go for Wahab. Hafeez hasn’t played since PSL so Ahmed deserves bcz of his form & experience. Asif Ali was dropped so Umer & Haris are Okay. You can differ with me bcz it’s your right.
— Mirza Iqbal Baig (@mirzaiqbal80) March 27, 2019

Opening batsman Ahmed Shehzad also returned to form during the last edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). As a result, voices for his inclusion in the national team gained momentum as the senior cricketer Mohammad Hafeez remained out of practice after being ruled out of the PSL.

However, former captain and wicket-keeper batsman Rashid Latif has disapproved this sentiment by stating the significance of a player like Hafeez in the white-ball cricket. Highlighting the credentials of the Lahore Qalandars skipper, the Karachi born added that Hafeez offers tremendous balance to the ODI team of Pakistan and his absence would hurt massively as his all-round skills are crucial to Pakistan’s performance in the World Cup event.
