KKR beat KXIP in a high scoring match

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are on a mission in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) as they have won their 2nd consecutive match yesterday. Kings XI Punjab, on the other hand, tasted their first defeat of the season. In a high scoring thriller, KKR batted first and scored 218-4 in their 20 overs.

Nitish Rana, Robin Uthappa and Andre Russell took them to this mammoth total. Uthappa top scored with 67 whilst young left-handed batsman Nitish Rana once again impressed with some belligerent power hitting as he scored 63 off just 34 balls smacking 7 massive sixes.

Russell chipped in with some extraordinary power-hitting once again and he gave his team a quickfire 48 off 17 balls with 5 maximums. In reply, the Kings XI Punjab lost wickets on regular intervals and Mayank Agarwal's 58 went in vain. David Miller also scored 59 towards the end along with Mandeep Singh (33) but their partnership wasn't enough to take the Kings over the line.
