Starc prepares for return to the firing line

Australia’s premier left-arm seamer Mitchell Starc is undergoing a smooth recovery from his injury that rendered him out of the ODI series against India and Pakistan. The 29-year-old, alongside fellow pacer Josh Hazlewood resumed bowling this week, signaling his timely return to the cricketing action ahead of the World Cup.

This will certainly bolster the Australian squad, who recently suffered a blow to their fast bowling stocks in the shape of a substantial injury to Jhye Richardson.

Starc’s express pace and uncanny ability to thunder in accurate yorkers afford him a special place among the top players in the world.

Speaking on Starc’s recovery, Hazlewood voiced optimism over his swift return in a podcast for Cricket Australia. “He (Starc) looks fine, he started bowling as well this week. He's coming off not as big a break as me so won't take him long to get up and running. He seems to be heading in the right direction,” Hazlewood said.
