The yorker king, Lasith Malinga, once again proved his credentials of being the best bowler in death with his perfect yorkers and cunning slower balls. The stage was all set for Royal Challengers Bangalore to pull off a miracle win at their own backyard (M. Chinnaswamy Bengaluru).
Mumbai Indians, batting first, posted a total of 188 runs for the home team to chase down. In reply, it was Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers show. The best pair in business took the match in their grip before Jasprit Bumrah got rid of Virat Kohli.
With 22 required of last 12 balls and AB de Villiers on the crease, RCB was winning from there every day and night. But Bumrah had other plans and brought Mumbai back into the game in the 2nd last over, and RCB required 17 runs to win from the last six deliveries.
Lasith Malinga, after being hit for a six on the very first ball, held his nerves and used his experience to outclass RCB and AB de Villiers. Mumbai Indians won the thriller by 6 runs.
