Yet another half-hearted performance from the late middle-order of Pakistan as they let the victory slip away from their jaws. Despite the two centuries from Abid Ali and Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan failed to chase a total of 277 runs.
Umar Akmal could not finish the game and threw his wicket away after just scoring 7 runs. The debutant captain Imad Wasim could not take Pakistan over the line as well. Pakistan's lack of strike force in the middle-order and late middle-order is a real concern.
It was also the first time that Pakistan lost the match while chasing a total of less than 280 with 2 centurions in the scorecard. Pakistan's incapability of increasing the strike-rate at the lower end of the innings will create questions for the management regarding who should be taking this job in the World Cup 2019.
