Pakistan suffered a terrible heartbreak in the fourth ODI in the ongoing series against Australia. After having already conceded the series following losses in the first 3 games, Pakistan had a change of leadership in the fourth ODI with Imad Wasim stepping in to replace the injured Shoaib Malik.
Instantly reaping rewards, for more than three quarters of the duration of the match, Pakistan bossed the game in what seemed like a dream start to Imad’s captaincy debut. However, Pakistan made a complete mess of the easy chase in the final 10 overs of the innings, losing the plot and ending up 6 runs short of Australia’s total.
Shedding light on the mighty collapse in the latter part of Pakistan’s innings, Imad was visibly flustered and proceeded to say, “If you are not learning after playing so much cricket, can't do anything about that.”
Nevertheless, he also focused on the positives in the batting department. “But the hundreds were positives for us. It's an honour to lead Pakistan. I enjoy captaincy,” he said.
