Waqar backs Asif and Wahab in World Cup squad

A couple of months await the world’s biggest cricketing tournament as top 10 teams gear to battle it out for the prized World Cup trophy. Pakistan are currently undergoing a bad patch of form, losing four games on the trot against Australia creating headaches for the selectors in finalizing the squad for the World Cup.

In light of this scenario, former pace Waqar Younis has suggested the selection committee to induct Asif Ali and Wahab Riaz into the team. Both of the players have been discarded from the side, but have upped their game in recent times visible by their performances in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Nevertheless, Waqar believes that Pakistan requires Asif because he is the only clean striker of the ball and has the ability to score briskly. Similarly, Waqar backed Wahab on the basis of his experience and the nip in his express pace bowling.
