Indian opening batsman KL Rahul is hoping to make a strong comeback to the national side in the upcoming World Cup after losing his place on the Australia tour due to his sexist remarks on a TV show.
In a recent interview, Rahul opened up about the time when he was sent back to India after being suspended from the national squad. He said that he had started to question his character as everyone was writing bad things about him.
“It was hard as I am not used to people disliking me. For the first one week or 10 days, I couldn't help but doubt myself, doubt my own character. The hardest thing was to know whether actually you are a bad person, when so much has been written about you,” he added.
He also admitted that the break was a blessing in disguise for him as it enabled him to reconnect with his family and friends which he was not able to do previously due to hectic touring schedule.
