Former Australian vice-captain David Warner has made a strong comeback to cricket after the completion of his 1-year ban. The aggressive opener has been scoring heavily in the Indian Premier League (IPL) off late.
Former English Test cricketer Mike Atherton has been immensely impressed with the way Warner served his ban i.e., by keeping his mouth shut and not giving any juicy statements to the press regarding his side of the story.
“He has stayed out of view. He has refused all of the presumably many juicy offers to reveal his side of the story and maintained a telling silence. Warner has simply kept his head down, his mouth shut and accepted the punishment,” wrote Atherton in his article.
Warner is now eligible to play for Australia again and is likely to return to the national squad for the cricket World Cup this year if he keeps on scoring runs in the IPL.
