Australian duo, Steve Smith and David Warner’s one-year ban over the disgraced ball-tampering scandal is officially over with the pair eligible to return to the Australian side. However, questions remain over their relationships with teammates following revelations of Australia’s bowlers threatening to boycott the final Test in South Africa should Warner not be stood down.
Multiple sources have confirmed that star bowlers Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon were intending to withdraw from the fourth Test of last year's infamous series if Warner had been free to play.
Smith and Bancroft were immediately called to question by the ICC over the ball tampering incident with Warner not initially charged. However, the CA investigation later revealed Warner to be the "architect" of the sandpaper plot.
