The Pakistan One-Day Cup is due to begin on April 2, as the nation’s top domestic cricketers battle to impress the selectors and use the platform as a gateway into the national side. The five-team tournament also features the Umar Gul-led Sindh, as they are determined to clinch their maiden Pakistan Cup title.
Having never qualified for the finals in the short history of the tournament thus far, Sindh will look to the experienced Gul to overturn their fortunes this time around. Gul seemed in high spirits as he entrusted his faith in the team’s strong bowling department boasting the likes of Rahat Ali and Junaid Khan.
“I really like the Pakistan Cup, it is one of our leading 50-over competitions. I have good understanding with most of the players and as a captain, as a leader, I have full confidence in my team. It should be a really competitive tournament as all five teams are well-balanced and look strong,” spoke Gul ahead of the start of the tournament.
