Chennai Super Kings suffered a major blow as the South African fast-bowler Lungi Ngidi was ruled out of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). To cover his absence, the think tank of the defending champions opted for the Kiwi bowling all-rounder Scott Kuggeleijn who’ll be available for the rest of the tournament.
Containing handy batting skills, the proficient cricketer is a decent bowler which is reflected in his numbers in the shortest format of the game. The 27-year old possesses an experience of 75 T20 games where he claimed 67 wickets at 30.92. With the willow, he amassed 454 runs at 18.16 by maintaining a strike-rate of 129.34.
Head coach of CSK Stephen Fleming was extremely excited to hire the services of the Hamilton born as he feels that the all-round skills of the adroit cricketer would add value to their squad. With the presence of strong players, it would be interesting to see if Kuggeleijn makes it to the playing eleven.
