Ramiz braces Abid Ali’s inclusion in World Cup squad

Scoring heaps of runs in the domestic circuit, the seasoned campaigner Abid Ali was finally installed in the playing eleven of Pakistan as Imam-ul-Haq missed the game because of suffering from fever. The 31-year old cricketer grabbed the opportunity with both hands and smashed a century on his ODI debut.

Abid wasn’t able to continue his good work as the Lahore born cricketer fell cheaply in the final ODI of the five-game series. However, his debut ODI innings have allowed the voices in favor of him to gain momentum.

Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja has also jumped on the bandwagon by calling Abid Ali a great product of domestic cricket. The cricketer turned commentator was extremely excited to see a Pakistani batsman scoring runs with class. Moreover, the 56-year old advocated the inclusion of Abid Ali in the World Cup squad of Pakistan.

Explaining his demand, Ramiz Raja added that he found Abid Ali technically strong as he was managing the new ball nicely. In addition to that, he was equally good against the spinners as he rotated the strike nicely to dictate the terms in the middle overs of the innings. Finally, the Faisalabad born added that the failures of Shan Masood have pushed Abid Ali’s case for getting selected for the mega-event.
