Universe Boss, Chris Gayle has added yet another record to his illustrious T20 career as he becomes the first player to smash 300 sixes in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Currently, Gayle is at the top of the list for ‘Most Sixes in IPL’ (302 sixes), with AB de Villiers at the second spot with 192 sixes, a massive difference of 108 sixes between the two.
Gayle hit back-to-back sixes against New Zealand and Mumbai left-arm paceman Mitchell McClenaghan to achieve the smashing feat at Punjab's Mohali ground. The Windies batsman reached this milestone in 114 innings, playing a total of 2719 balls. He completed his 200 sixes in the tournament in 2015.
The prolific opener also holds the record of hitting most sixes in an innings. He smashed 17 maximums against Pune Warriors in 2013 during his 175 run knock. His 175-run knock is also the highest individual score by any batsman in IPL history.
