Pakistan face first white-wash at home in ODIs

Although Pakistan rested six of their main players for the ODI series against Australia, still nobody thought that the green shirts would fail to win even a single match in the series. In the fifth and the final ODI of the series, Australia posted the highest total of the series finishing at 327-7 in their 50 overs.

Usman Khawaja and Glenn Maxwell continued their great form as Khawaja fell just 2 short of another ton in the ODIs. Maxwell once again finished the innings on a high scoring 70 off just 33 balls to take Australia to this huge total.

In reply, the centurion of the previous match Abid Ali went for a duck as he edged a wide delivery to Alex Carey. However, Shan Masood and Haris Sohail kept Pakistan in the hunt for a good period of the innings. Shan scored his first 50 of the series before getting lbw off Adam Zampa.

Haris Sohail proved that he’s here to stay in the ODI setup of Pakistan as he scored his career-best 130 off just 129 balls with 11 fours and 3 massive sixes.

Haris also has experience of playing in the ICC World Cup 2015 and he certainly knows how to perform on bigger stages under pressure which means Haris Sohail is definitely on the plane to England for the ICC World Cup 2019. Umar Akmal chipped in with 43 off 44 but again he failed to finish the match for Pakistan.

Skipper Imad Wasim also tried his best to take Pakistan home but his 34 balls 50 couldn’t save Pakistan from a humiliating white-wash at home.
