As far as Pakistan’s power-hitting department is concerned, the recent whitewash against Australia highlighted the gravity of the issue. During all the five games of the series, Pakistan lacked those extra 15-20 runs by the finisher which ultimately contributed towards their defeats.
With the World Cup event not being far away, Pakistan doesn’t have much time left to address the issue. Head coach Mickey Arthur didn’t shy away from admitting the failures of Pakistan but the 50-year old still remains upbeat about Pakistan’s chances in the mega-event to be played in England and Wales.
Sharing his views on the subject, the Johannesburg born revealed that he has his eyes on three players who can fill the role. The upcoming five-game ODI series against England would be used for that purpose so that Pakistan enters the World Cup with an established finisher. Moreover, Mickey added that playing few games before the high voltage contests of the World Cup will help his players to get familiar with the English conditions.
