Australia swept aside the new-look Pakistan 5-0 with disdain after claiming a 20-run victory in a high-scoring fifth ODI on Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium. This is Australia’s second consecutive away ODI series win after they won 3-2 against India recently.
Left-hand batsman, Haris Sohail played splendidly to score his second ton in the series and stand-in skipper Imad Wasim also fought with a brisk 34-ball 50 not out with six boundaries and a six but Pakistan's brilliant fight ended in a losing cause.
Imad believes that Pakistan will make a strong comeback once their main players return in the starting lineup. Pakistan decided to rest as many as six key players for the ODI series against Australia.
"No matter what players are playing, 5-0 is a bad loss. But we have to chin up as we have a series coming up against England and the World Cup," Imad said in the post-match conference.
