Former Pakistan captain turned commentator, Ramiz Raja believes that opener Fakhar Zaman and batsman Babar Azam should have played in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam were among the six players who were rested for the ODI series against Australia. However, with Pakistan being whitewashed 5-0, Ramiz questioned the decision to rest Zaman and Azam.
“I disagree with the strategy of resting the players, we should not rest batsmen, especially Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman because they both needed to practice and play matches,” Ramiz said.
Ramiz believes that if the team management would have brought in these two players for 2-3 matches then it would have been the much better strategy for Pakistan.
