Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry stated that Pakistan has decided to ban the telecast of Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in Pakistan.

“The Indian broadcaster pulled out from broadcasting the Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches to harm Pakistan’s cricket and the decision to ban airing the IPL matches was taken in that background,” Fawad Chaudhry said.
In February, DSport the official broadcasters of the PSL in India stopped the coverage of the PSL in protest of the Pulwama terrorist attack that killed 40 CRPF personnel.
He further stated that the Pakistan government believes that sports and culture should not be politicised, but India adopted an aggressive posture against Pakistani players and artists.
