In the 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Mumbai Indians were too good for the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
Batting first, the Mumbai Indians went on to score 170-5 in their 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav scored 59 off 43 whilst some lusty blows towards the end of the innings by Pandya brothers took Mumbai to a respectable total.
Krunal Pandya scored 42 off 32 with 5 fours and a six whilst Hardik Pandya scored 25 off 8 balls with 3 maximums and a four. In reply, the strong batting order of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) failed to replicate their previous performances and they eventually fell short by 37 runs.
Kedhar Jadhav with his 58 runs was the lone fighter for the men in yellow. Lasith Malinga took 3 wickets for Mumbai Indians and Jason Behrendroff took 2 wickets for just 22 runs in his 4 overs. Also, Hardik Pandya took 3 wickets for 20 runs to take the award of the player of the match.
