Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is about to take drastic changes in the domestic circuit. As per reports, the suggested model of Prime Minister and former cricketer Imran Khan is set to be implemented which advocates limiting domestic cricket to six regions.
While the quality could be promoted, a major concern of such a model is the expected financial woes of players who have played for departments. The latest man to raise the issue is the former wicket-keeper batsman Rashid Latif who highlighted the domestic mechanism of Australia which contains the same number of teams.
However, the Karachi born brought the financial side of the Australian model into light. The cricketer turned analyst revealed that the domestic cricketers of Australia already enjoy a good salary and they are meant to get a further raise.
Addressing the governing body of cricket in Pakistan, the 50-year old said that Australian domestic model should only be adopted if domestic players are given the similar remuneration. Else, it would create chaos for many cricketers.
