Team India has been struggling to fit in a batsman at the number 4 position in the batting order in ODI cricket. The build-up series for the World Cup also featured different faces at the crucial position.
Former Indian World Cup winning captain, Kapil Dev feels that players need to adopt according to situations instead of batting at fix positions in order to stay at par with the requirements of modern-day cricket.
Kapil has also favored MS Dhoni ahead of young Rishabh Pant who still needs time to make a mark for himself and become a world-class wicket-keeper batsman.
“MS Dhoni has set the standard very high. Yes, Pant has the ability, but he has a long way to go. Are only bowling all-rounders, and fast bowling all-rounders considered all-rounders? I would consider wicket-keepers also. For me, Dhoni comes in very high,” he said.
