Balochistan have continued their supremacy in the ongoing edition of Pakistan Cup as they recorded a second consecutive victory. In the third game of the tournament, Balochistan hammered Sindh to post a formidable total of 346 after being invited to bat first.
In reply, Sindh batted well but a cluster of wickets in the middle-overs of the innings dented their run-chase. From 157-2, Sindh lost the track as wickets of Umar Siddiq, Asif Ali and Hammad Azam left them reeling at 164-5. Umar Amin and Amir Yamin did put up a good fight but it wasn’t enough to bag the victory.
While the day once again belonged to the flamboyant batsman Umar Akmal who smashed 99 of 66 balls but the heroics of the all-rounder Amad Butt cannot be undermined.
Batting down the order, the 23-year old cricketer bludgeoned an 18-ball 42 before claiming three crucial wickets of Sindh – a performance which saw him claiming the player of the match award. The Sialkot born player was ecstatic to contribute heavily towards the team’s cause as he aims to deliver consistently and help his team win the title.
