Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) looked well on-course on their first victory of this year’s edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) following a strong show against Kolkata Knight Riders for an extended duration of the match. However, all started to go downhill once Andre Russell came to the middle.
Indian star player, Virat Kohli
The Caribbean big-hitter set up a ludicrous display of power striking and ransacked the RCB bowling lineup. While Russell’s magnificent batting clearly stunned RCB, the bowlers were found guilty of never delivering the ball in the blockhole.
This was alluded to by RCB skipper Virat Kohli, who harangued his pacers for not bowling according to the situation. “The last four overs, the way we bowled, we deserved to lose ... If you can't defend 75 in the last four overs then I don't know if you can defend 100,” he said following the game.
