Asif Ali not bemused by potential World Cup berth

Having been named in the 23 players called for fitness test ahead of the World Cup, the Islamabad United batsman has good chances of making to the 15-man squad.

The 27-year old cricketer failed to produce an influential knock in Sindh’s opening game as he saw his team getting thumped by 72 runs. However, he is extremely confident of coming back strongly and helping his team win the title.

On the sidelines of the 3rd game of the Pakistan Cup, Asif Ali was found reflecting on his performance and the World Cup selection. The Faisalabad born cricketer revealed that he’s not losing his sleep on a possible World Cup selection. Instead, the belligerent striker is completely focused on doing well in the ongoing 50-over competition. Furthermore, Asif added that by reducing the number of mistakes, he is looking to become a consistent batsman and would leave the rest to his destiny and the wisdom of selectors.
