With World Cup being around the corner, every cricketing nation is finalizing their 15-man squad it deems perfect for the mega-event. Pakistan is no exception as they have called 23 players for a fitness test at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore on April 15 and 16. As per the reports, final squad will be picked from this pool.
Former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq who is currently serving as the chief selector of Pakistan recently reflected on the upcoming edition of the all-important event. The 49-year old is sitting quite optimistic about finalizing a sturdy squad which would be good enough to lift the glorious title in England.
The Multan born also shared his views on the ODI series against Australia where Pakistan was hammered. He said that despite resting 7 key players, Pakistan gave a tough time to Australia which speaks about having a strong bench.
Continuing the discussion, Inzamam added that the World Cup squad would be finalized keeping the need of the team in mind. Moreover, he extended his best wishes to green shirts for the high quality tournament.
