English opening batsman Jason Roy has become a regular member of the ODI side after giving numerous record-breaking performances at the top, helping England achieve the highest team ranking eventually.
The batsman is currently at home spending time with his family instead of participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in order to prepare for the high-pressure cricket World Cup at home later this year.
He has revealed that he decided to stay at home this year as he had learned from his past mistake of burning himself out in the IPL before the Champions Trophy in 2017.
“This is my first kid, so it is more important than any cricket. That was my choice. I also didn't want a repeat of 2017 when I burnt myself out before the Champions Trophy,” he said.
