England all-rounder Ben Stokes believes the incident at the Bristol bar which threatened to ruin his career may have been laced with a silver lining as it has made him wiser. Stokes missed last year's Ashes tour of Australia after being suspended by the ECB and the case concluded in December last year.
"It sounds silly but, could Bristol have been the best thing that could have happened to me? Who knows? But maybe in terms of my way of thinking," Stokes said.
Stokes is now back in the picture and looking forward to this summer's World Cup, but he has not returned to international cricket the same person. He revealed that his off-field activities had changed since his arrest outside a Bristol nightclub, in the wake of England's victory over West Indies in an ODI.
