Former Australian captain Steve Smith backed Camron Bancroft as a leader of Durham County Cricket Club. Cameron Bancroft along with Steve Smith and David Warner was lent a ban in the 3rd Test match at Cape Town against South Africa last year.
Cameron's ban lasted for 9 months and recently he was appointed the captain of Durham. The management of Durham highlighted that he was the "best option available". Steve admired Cameron's captaincy skills and said, " He is a good choice for captain".
"He is got a good head on his shoulders and has shown great character in the way he has come back after his time out", Smith added.
Bancroft played 8 Test matches for Australia and he will be eyeing the comeback into the national side in the Ashes through the performances in the County Championship.
