The Afghanistan cricket team has been shook to the core with the recent shock announcement of the removal of Asghar Afghan as captain of the side. This sweeping change just two months before the World Cup has not gone down well with several of the players in the Afghanistan camp, with Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi publicly declaring their opposition to the move.
Meanwhile, the new appointee Gulbadin Naib has voiced his desire for the current instability in the Afghanistan cricket team to subside soon, in time to prepare efficiently for the World Cup.
“Nabi & Rashid Khan are like my big brothers, my seniors. I respect them & will be benefited from their experience. I hope everything will be settled & we will participate in the WC with more strength,” Naib stated in a recent radio interview.
